The Se-Ma-No Electric Cooperative Board of Directors is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the general manager position for their cooperative. The current general manager will retire in early 2018.

Applicants should have a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible utility, administrative, management, or supervisory experience and a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a related field. Previous CEO/general manager experience is desirable but not required. Experience working with or for boards of directors or other similar experience is a plus.

The successful candidate will be a progressive leader with high integrity and demonstrated leadership skills and must have good business acumen. Strong oral/written communication and people skills are required. A broad understanding of the cooperative business model, including strategic planning, finances, member, and human relations and electric distribution system operations is a plus. A commitment to serving the cooperative members and the ability to work effectively with the nine member elected Board of Directors and to provide positive leadership to the employees is required. The general manager will be required to reside within the service territory of the cooperative and show a desire to be active in the communities served.

Se-Ma-No Electric Cooperative serves approximately 6,000 member/consumers over more than 1,100 miles of distribution line in Wright, Douglas, Webster, and Texas Counties in Missouri. The cooperative has a dedicated work force of 18 employees and annual revenues of more than $9.6 million. Se-Ma-No Electric Cooperative is a member of Sho-Me Power Electric Cooperative and is located in Mansfield, MO.
